Pancakes with Santa spreads cheer for McGregor, Fulbright families

 

Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Grenita Lathan made a Saturday extra merry for McGregor Elementary families.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, Pancakes with Santa was held at McGregor Elementary School. The event was hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, an international service organization for women, which Dr. Lathan is a member. 

A pancake breakfast was served and gifts were distributed, and students received coats, hygiene items and other household supplies. The event is made possible by generous partners Alpha Phi Alpha Incorporated, Aramark, Care to Learn and Springfield Public Schools.

“Pancakes with Santa is our signature event and connects to one of our core initiatives, which is empowering families,” said Dr. Lathan. “It’s a great way to celebrate the season and empower our families with the resources they need to thrive during the holiday season and beyond. Plus, it’s just fun.”
